The Holocaust Museum and Education Center in Skokie is a culmination of 30 years of hard work by the local Holocaust survivor community. 

This Museum opened on April 19, 2009, and is most likely the last of its kind built with Holocaust survivors’ participation. The Museum aims to preserve the Holocaust’s legacy by honoring the memories of those who were lost. It also focuses on teaching universal lessons that combat hatred, prejudice, and indifference. 

Here one can see exhibition, preservation, and interpretation of its collections. The Holocaust Museum and Education Center also has education programs and initiatives that foster human rights and the elimination of genocide.

Skokie Heritage Museum

If you want to explore Skokie’s heritage, it is good to visit the Skokie Heritage Museum, which houses locally-significant historical photos, documents, and artifacts. 

This Museum is established in the Historic Engine House, which has been beautifully restored. The oldest extant structure in Skokie, the Meyer Family cabin, built-in 1847, and a reference library are also featured at this Museum.

Sevan Gallery

The Sevan Gallery in Skokie was established by the artist Minas Gharibian in 1980. Minas has an association with reputable art houses, which continued for an additional ten years after the opening of the Sevan Gallery. 

This gallery grew and earned a reputation for its sophisticated fine art offering and quality gallery services over the years. The artist delivers various art pieces, including mixed media, modern and watercolor art.

Modern Wall Art was started by Syed Rahman and his father from a basement in Chicago in 2014. From selling on Etsy and eBay to selling on his website, Syed eventually expanded enough to open a small studio space in Skokie, Illinois, in 2016, followed by the actual gallery. 

Modern Wall Art has been growing successfully over the years and today, visitors can view and buy anything from 3D decor, stainless steel art, furniture, and more.
